Everyone knows that drinking water is the easiest way to stay hydrated. But did you know that drinking melon water is even better? Not only does it add some welcome flavor to your bland ol’ H2O, but adding chunks of watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew will actually hydrate your vocal cords and throat faster than plain water. The molecules of the melon are larger than those of water, and therefore stay in the vocal tract longer, resulting in higher levels of hydration!

When we apply the Dorian mode to blues music (and by extension, rock ‘n’ roll), we begin to explore some really exciting implications. The Dorian mode and minor pentatonic scales share these common scale degrees: 1  ♭3  4  5  ♭7.

Prices will vary depending on which company you work with, but you can make cassettes as low as $1-2 and you can also buy them in small runs. So instead of spending thousands on one album’s production and having tons of CDs lying around for the next 2 years waiting to be sold or given away, you can make as many or as few cassettes as you want.

As for taking oneself too seriously… If I wasn’t able to make fun of myself, especially considering what I’m trying to do with my life, I don’t think I’d be able to cope. That’s not to say I don’t take anything seriously, because that’s essential too. But at the end of the day, being able to throw your hands up and laugh when a project goes horribly awry, or bringing an attitude of openness and humor onstage, can make space for very magical things to happen out of the blue, and that’s what I love most of all.

All of our mentored online courses come with six weeks of 1-on-1 professional coaching and feedback on your work. It’s like having a personal trainer, but for music! Whether you’re interested in diving deep into production-related topics like Advanced Mix Techniques, Beat Making in Ableton Live, or Intro to Making Music in Logic Pro X, or just wanting to work with a mentor directly to achieve a musical goal specific to you, we can help you get there!
